Back in August I had an idea for the new version of Geoffers', bringing my main site and my blog together. It was simply a 3 column layout, with a lot of rounded corners.
In September, after toying around with the idea for a couple of weeks, drew up the idea and started coding.
As you can clearly see, the design changed dramatically. When I first coded it, I realised it'd just be impossible to get that many shadowed corners in a small enough space for a 800x600 screen, so, I made the decision to have just one. (Although having 3 columns within it).
Finally, in late September/early October I got round to making it a WordPress theme. The result of that was that both of the sidebars looked extremely empty. I dumped one of them and put all the data in it.
Then came browser testing. Everything rendered it as it was meant to. Except IE/Win.
Finally, earlier today, I realised it was to do with the CSS1 on my <pre> tags. I added width: 414px; and all was well.
Here we are, 2 and a half months after I thought of the idea, finally launching the design. So, what do you think? How does it look? Did I go about designing it in a very inefficient way? Something else?
Oh, and those wondering about http://blog.geoffers.uni.cc/, there's a .htaccess file in place to redirect everyone here.
