Tantek: Just ask for it to be replaced. As it's under warranty, and has had the same failure over 4 times, it's likely it'll be replaced free of charge if you ask, probably even with a current-rev iBook G4 ;) (although that's at Apple's disgression, but it's likely that's what it'll get replaced with, as, well, the iBook G3s aren't built anymore).

I tried asking the Genius Bar folks if they would consider replacing it since it is the sixth time that this problem has occured, and they said no, that is not up to them, and gave me the option of calling AppleCare directly, referencing my repair # and asking for them to consider replacing it. I might try that when I have some time to sit by the phone for a while.

Ah. I wasn't sure what it was like actually in store, as I've never been to a store for help (partly because the nearest store is over 500 miles away).
