This, IMO, is one reason why OSS will never become the norm - anything that isn't "free" (in that you can see the source and modify it, even under certain restrictions (even the GPL does place restrictions, no matter how much you say you can do anything with it)) is evil and cannot be included by default, as it will pollute our software, even if it will hurt usability.
